Lisa Sollie began working for Mississippi State University in 2010 as an admissions counselor on the Meridian Campus. A year later, she assumed the project coordinator position and is responsible for handling public affairs for MSU-Meridian, including writing news releases, photography, special events, and social media for both the College Park and Riley campuses.
A magna cum laude graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in communications/media in 1983, Lisa spent her final semester of college as an intern at the Greater Pittsburgh YWCA. In 1984, she moved south to Meridian, Mississippi, where she landed a job as public relations coordinator for the Lauderdale County School District and then went to work as member services coordinator for East Mississippi Electric Power Association. She left the corporate world six years later to be a stay-at-home mom after her oldest child was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
Actively involved at New Hope Baptist Church, where she sings, teaches middle school girls, leads women’s bible studies, and has logged eight mission trips to Guatemala, Lisa also enjoys traveling, reading, and writing.
Lisa and her husband, Scott, a native of Meridian, have two grown sons and a granddaughter on the way.
