Thomas Broadus has recently joined Mississippi State University’s Office of Public Affairs as new Chief Marketing Officer bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the communication and marketing arena. As the university's new CMO, Broadus will spearhead strategic marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing the university's brand while elevating MSU’s visibility both locally and nationally.

A Pascagoula, Miss. native, Broadus began his career as a software developer after graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi where he quickly transformed those skills into web development and digital outreach for Mississippi Public Broadcasting in Jackson, Miss. While at MPB he supported the communications department where he oversaw two website relaunches and helped to bring them into the digital era while launching many of the social channels MPB still utilize today. His work in emerging digital marketing was noticed by PBS where Broadus was elected to serve on two National committees with PBS in 2009, The PBS Station Interactive Advisory Board and the PBS Communications Advisory Board. He was honored to be elected as the chairman of the PBS Station Interactive Advisory Board, in 2011. He could also be found regularly on MPB Radio where he was featured on Everyday Technology and Mississippi Edition discussing trends and issues surrounding technology and digital media.

In 2011 Broadus earned his master’s degree in communication from USM and begin work as the Director of Digital Strategy for The Focus Group which was a fully integrated marketing agency located in Gulfport, Miss. While at The Focus Group he became a sought-after public speaker across the Gulf South where his expertise ranged across social media strategy, digital marketing, and communication planning.

In 2018 Broadus joined the senior leadership team at Infinity Marketing based in Greenville, South Carolina where his role evolved from the Digital Media Director to the Senior Director of Digital Content where Broadus supported teams across business development, social media, SEO, website development, and video production. During his time with Infinity, he worked with national, regional, and local brands to bring their stories to life through innovative marketing campaigns and content development. Shortly before joining MSU as the Chief Marketing Officer, Broadus served as the President for King & Columbus, a fully integrated digital solution marketing agency, that was based in Charleston, South Carolina with additional offices in Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina.
